Anna Molineux – BIO
Anna Molineux is the creative force behind ‘Magical Masquerade’ who paint their way through hundreds of events, parties and individual commissions each year.
As Director of Magical Masquerade, Anna is the first point of contact and will work to make your event magical. Happiest with a paint brush in her hand, Anna is a talented artist and loves nothing more than expressing her creativity using the human form as her canvas.
Wearing her other hat Anna is also Director of ‘Young @ Art‘, a successful art school providing after-school and holiday art and craft workshops for children aged 5-14 years in the Franklin area.
“I have always had a strong passion for the arts, particularly art and design, and consider myself extremely lucky to be able to combine all these elements through Magical Masquerade & Young @ Art,” says Anna.
Anna’s most recent awards were first prize in the UV category and 3rd place at the NZ Body Art Awards 2013 in Takapuna, Auckland
Anna’s other body painting awards include Best Emerging Artist at the 2012 Taupo Waitutahi Body Art Festival and 2nd in category at the 2011 NZ Body Art Awards.
When Anna’s not busy with Magical Masquerade or ‘Young @ Art’, she dedicates her time to exploring new creative ventures and projects. Most notable is ‘The Pink Ribbon Calendar 2013’ for the Breast Cancer Foundation, featuring 12 inspirational body paintings on breast cancer sufferers and survivors. As one half of the inspiration behind the calendar and Art Director for the project, Anna and her team successfully raised $100,000 through calendar sales to help The Breast Cancer Foundation with research into the disease. In addition, Anna was able to share the calendar ‘works of art’ with a wider audience through her nationwide exhibition tour of life size canvases.
We’re passionate about taking art out into the community and Anna was able to realise this ambition through the inception of the Franklin Children’s Arts Festival in 2012 and 2013. As the main event organiser, Anna leads a talented team to provide free access to the arts for children and youth within the Franklin area and further afield.
